Cover looks great, but the front panel blocks the sensor
Posted by Scott on 3rd Aug 2017
I love the look and feel of the cover on my Pixel. My only complaint is about the front panel. I installed the panel as accurately as I could, and everything seemed to line up within maybe a millimeter of accuracy. I quickly found that, during calls, I could not access the screen. I realized the top of the panel might be interfering with the proximity sensor. Sure enough, I removed the top portion of the panel (sadly) and my proximity sensor was working again! I reapplied the top portion in a variety of positions, but each one interfered with the sensor. I am not sure if they product tested this feature, but I would recommend updating the design to leave the area around that sensor much larger.
TOAST RESPONSE: Thanks for your feedback. Please contact us with this issue. This is the first we have heard of an issue with a sensor on the Pixel. We will correct it immediately if this is a problem with our cover.
A good choice

I like this product. It looks good and feels good. It's more of a skin than a case, to be honest. And the corners were a bit flimsy, one of the little pieces broke off during installation (though that could be my clumsy fingers). I would recommend this product.
Don't hesitate to take advantage of our "butterfingers" policy: we offer everyone a free do-over if something goes awry during installation! Just send us some photos for verification and we'll get a second cover headed your way, on us.

Really awesome durable product! Super easy to install and really lasts! You won't be disappointed!
Exactly what I wanted out of a wood skin

Great phone skin, precision cut to perfection. If you have a steady hand and apply the skin correctly you'll be happy with the purchase. Only drawback I can see is that it catches a bit of pocket lint in the tiny spaces between the wood pieces but not a big deal. I'll be toasting all my future phones for sure.
Awesome! The lint sticking issue disappears after a few days. It occurs because of the exposed adhesive on the edges. Thanks!
Functional and Beautiful

As long as you're a little careful when you stick it on, and follow the directions about rolling the corners, the end result is awesome! I've had Toast covers on all of my phones since I found out about them. The wood is high quality and well cut, the adhesive is strong but doesn't ruin the phone if you ever need to get it off, but more importantly, my phone is more than just a slab of cold steel and glass now. There's a character to the cover that you don't get with a bare phone. Not to mention, it's quite a bit grippier than my naked device, which is a great piece of mind.
Got my phone knocked out of my hand earlier today - BAM! Right onto concrete. TWO solid bounces. That would have destroyed any other phone, or at least completely scratched up the metal. With my Toast cover, my phone is perfectly fine. Little scratch on the wood, but that just adds to the character of the cover.
I won't buy a phone again unless there's a Toast cover for it.

No company will ever top what Toast has done with this real wood skin. I hate everything about cases. They ruin the look and the feel of the phone and every other skin that I've seen is not so attractive. I purchased the ebony wood skin for my Google pixel and it looks absolutely amazing and the cut is absolutely perfect. The phone is now ever so slightly larger making it more comfortable to hold. The wood grain adds grip as well. I'm assuming the skin adds decent protection from drops even if the wood cracks on impact. Another surprising upgrade is the audio quality. My pixel has had a horrible speaker rattle and the treble is overwhelming and obnoxious. There is now enough wood on the skin to give the phone great acoustics and the volume seems louder and far more clear than before. Most of all, the phone is now gorgeous. I love it. This was worth every penny and was incredibly easy to install. Wish I could purchase this exact same grain and color for my pixel c tablet.
Good product, but you're stuck if your phone dies
Posted by Chris on 10th May 2017
Product seemed pretty good, except my phone died within a week of applying it. It was a brick and was replaced through my work by warranty. I was offered a discount if i could prove with exact sets of documentation that I received a warranty replacement for exactly $0. I sent several sets of documentation, which didn't seem to be what they wanted. Ultimately the last document I sent them they never replied to, so today I do not have a toast skin on my phone, and will likely not consider one in the future.
Toast Reply: We offer a 50% discount on a replacement cover if your phone has to get replaced or repaired under warranty. We simply ask for proof (receipt) of the warranty repair.

My original thought was that this was a case and not a cover. And if you are wondering the difference... I would describe a case as something you snap onto your phone and a cover is something you attach to your phone using glue or tape. It is the latter. That being said, I love it! It's feels like wood, it smells like wood, and the precision cutting makes it so the phone looks like it was created with the wood.

I love it! The only problem I had with it was putting it on my phone, so mine is a little off kilter, but that's just because I was in a bit of a rush.
Good quality except for the corners

I was expecting a proper case but the wrap actually looks really nice. My only disappointment is that I put it on perfectly after watching the videos but less than a day later a corner already fell off.
We try to make it clear that it's not a traditional snap-on case, so I'm glad to hear you like it.
About the corner... that sounds like something that would be covered under our warranty. Send us a pic at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll get you taken care of.
